AZU RESTAURANT – Illuminated – An Evening of Eats, Lumens, and Tunes

A unique two hour immersive dining experience providing a four-course tasting meal paired with local artisanal beer, Ojai Valley Brewery.
Evening enhanced by Altarbeast Labs providing a full sensory experince. Deep soul/house sonic vibes currated by DJ T.Mara, Liquid Light Photobooth by Decelorator, and projection wizardry by Amun Levy.

1st Course: Herb Filled Piquillo Peppers + Sugar Bush
Charred Piquillo Pepper stuffed with rice, cotija, guajillo aioli, pickled jicama, fresh cilantro, fresh oregano.

2nd Course: Deviled Prawn Bisque + White Pixie
Guajillo chilis and tomato with shrimp stock and white wine topped with spice rubbed sautéed shrimp
Vegetarian Option Asparagus Soup

3rd Course: Dry Rubbed Chicken Sage Masa Cake + Chaparral
Oven roasted chicken with hasa harina cake incorporated with sage
Vegetarian Option Mole Chile Relleno

4th Course Lemon Rosemary Olive Oil Cake and Clotted Cream – Etchart Gold
polenta olive oil cake dollop of clotted cream, sprinkled with crushed lemon rosemary invert sugar dust.

**For our friends who who prefer to imbibe wine or beverages sans alcohol, we offer a an alternate pairing of Azu’s custom non-alcoholic mock-tails or Ojai Alisal Wine with the menu. Drinks are made to order for the menu with intentional flavor selections and infusions made with local herbs and flora.**

To hand-make natural unfiltered beers, using sustainable practices, using local water in its natural state, with local herbs for bitterness and flavor, while staying small and creating our own styles rather than chasing current trends.

We hand craft all our beer in either 13 Gal, 124 Gal, or 248 Gal batches. Our brewery is 100% Electric, and run off renewable energy. Nothing is automated. We stay small so that we can maintain quality and take the appropriate care, to make you something “Uniquely Ojai,” and never put company growth over quality practices. -JH
