Storytellers from around the world descend upon Ojai every October to shower us with heart warming, soul searching, funny-bone tickling, and sometimes life altering stories! Please pass this on to your friends!

It’s a fantastic event split between four venues!

Donald Davis, Clare Murphy, Reverend B. Jones, Diane Macklin, Bil Lepp, Bill Harley, Debra Ehrhardt, Regi Carpenter, A Tribute to Joni Mitchell, and Alan Thornhill come together to make this year’s festival more than worthy of it’s 20 years!

The Ojai Storytelling Festival will take place Oct.. 28-Oct.31st at Libbey Bowl, and the Ojai Art Center in the beautiful setting of the Ojai Valley. The event presents renowned storytellers from around the world in a celebration of the spoken word. Attendees will hear stories of adventure, humorous tales, folk tales, contemporary personal stories and uplifting stories of the human spirit. The lineup  includes Donald Davis of North Carolina, Bill Harley of Mass., Kim Weitkamp of Ohio, Diane Macklin of Marlyland, Bil Lepp of West Virginia, Regi Carpenter of New York, the Reverend B. Jones of Michigan, Debra Ehrhardt of Jamaica, and special guest Kimberly Ford and the Dreamland Band’s tribute to Joni Mitchell.

For those unfamiliar with a storytelling festival, the stories are not read, they are performed and often are accompanied by music and movement.  The Ojai Storytelling Festival has become one of the leading storytelling festivals on the West Coast drawing listeners from around the nation.  David Holt, award winning storyteller and Grammy winning musician said, “The Ojai Storytelling Festival has it all: entertaining, nationally known storytellers, wonderful organization and the ideal location to sit out under the oaks and hear stories that will move you, make you laugh and remind you it is great to be alive.”  A complete schedule is available online at www.ojaistoryfest.org.

Highlights include a night of comedy called Laughing Night, a special late evening of ribald tales for adults called “Naughty Tales”, a variety of workshops on the art of storytelling ,  educational performances for students, an evening of an evening featuring tales of mystery and suspense especially for Halloween, and Kimberly Ford and the Dreamland Band’s Tribute to Joni Mitchell.   Tickets for individual performances as well as a variety of passes for multiple events are available at the website: www.ojaistoryfest.org.
