Explore an exciting global selection of Ancient Cave Paintings and Indigenous Rock Art with artists Deborah Kerner & Richard Waxberg who have visited and studied many of the sites themselves and whose art is directly affected by the mystery and visual power of many of these ancient images. They will also show a selection of their current work that reveals the potency of this ancient art to still speak to us across thousands of years.
Join us for a virtual global adventure! Cave & Rock Art sites include: The Great Gallery wall in Horseshoe Canyon, Canyonlands National Park, Utah; Les Trois Frères Cave, Montesquieu-Avantès, France; Pech Merle Cave, Cabrerets, France; Gilf Kebir Cave, Egypt; and Sand Island Petroglyphs, Bluff, Utah.
This virtual event is produced on the occasion of the exhibition Cave Painting, Painted Cave. The exhibition is currently on view at The Gallery at Hotel Indigo Santa Barbara, a satellite fundraising partnership to benefit the Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation.
