Tree Planting Day at Camp Arnaz

Affectionately known to local Girl Scouts as “Camp Arnaz,” the Arnaz Program Center is a 36-
acre property located near Ojai valley. Since its dedication in 1982, the camp has hosted Girl
Scouts, community organizations, and other youth-serving nonprofits.
To allow more Girl Scouts to connect with their surroundings and engage in outdoor education,
Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast has spent the duration of the Covid-19 shutdowns
completing some exciting additions to the camp. These include an archery and BB gun range,
astronomy pad, equine center, and fruit tree orchard. Last year, Girl Scout supporters came
together to adopt apple trees for the new orchard, which will serve Girl Scout programs,
seasonal community fruit-picking events, and local food banks for years to come.
Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast is overjoyed to announce that SoCalGas has donated an
entire grove, 30 trees, of stone fruit trees to the Camp Arnaz orchard. We are so thankful for
their support of future outdoor programming for our girls and community. Please join us for the
planting of the new trees on Friday, April 30, 2021.
