OJAI LIBRARY – Film Editing, Writing, and “Noirmedy”

January 18, 2020; 1pm

Author Rick Tuber will visit the Ojai Library at 1 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2020, to deliver a talk on Film Editing, Writing, and “Noirmedy.” Tuber will be discussing and answering questions about his three books and will also talk about his long career in film editing and what made him become a writer at the age of 60—it turns out that both professions are all about story telling!

Rick Tuber is an American author and film editor. He attended California State University, Northridge, and has been working in film since the 1980s, earning a Primetime Emmy award and an ACE (American Cinema Editors) award for best editing for a drama. Just My F***ing Luck is his third publication with FriesenPress, following its 2016 prequel Should Have Seen It Coming, and is described as an amusing and chaotic “noirmedy” (noir + comedy). Tuber also published a non-fiction book about working on location in China calledShanghai Cuts: A Hollywood Film Editor’s Misadventures in China.

When not writing or traveling, Rick can be found sipping on single malt scotch and rooting for his beloved Yankees. Win or lose.

This event is free and open to the public. For additional information, contact Ron Solórzano, Regional Librarian, at (805) 218-9146.

The Ojai Library is located at 111 East Ojai Avenue in Ojai, CA. Hours of service are 10am to 8pm Monday through Thursday and 12pm to 5pm Friday through Sunday.
