DESCRIPTION:Alignment Yoga and Qigong\n\n\n\nLepeng has been teaching group Yoga and Pilates classes at gyms and yoga studios for the past 10 years. She has witnessed many people\, especially older people struggle in typical Yoga classes as well as other strenuous workout classes in the gym. Unless you have been consistently practice Yoga and workout regularly\, the typical yoga and pilates classes are not natural or even suitable for our bodies and it can also hurt us and cause unnecessary injuries. \nEven though she grew up in China\, Lepeng was not interested in practicing Qigong and Tai Qi until she is in her forties. She started to experience and understand the benefit of Qigong movement as she gets older and becomes more in tune with the subtle flow of  energy patterns in her body. According to ancient integral medical theory\, disease is the manifestation of energy disorder and aberration within the body. It is a state in which the various organs and the nervous system are functioning incorrectly or inadequately in a manner which is either too slow or fast\, too weak or strong. When the energy flows through the channels unimpeded and various organs are in a state of equilibrium\, one is healthy. If the energy becomes imbalanced or blocked\, disease manifests. Disease indicates that the energy flow needs to be corrected. Through the calmness and relaxation generated by Qigong movement\, the vitality which has been blocked within a tense and imbalanced body is released and allowed to restore and sustain natural health. \nLepeng designed this movement class to help people to enjoy movement in a way that feels good\, flows the energy and trains the mind.  And you don’t have to go fast\, be competitive and worry about injures. The class starts with gentle flow of Qigong to warm up the body and open up all the energy channels in the body\, then we use 6-feet wooden sticks to help us stretch in ways that we normally would not be able to without it. The last 30-minutes of  the class\, Lepeng lead people through some gentle yoga poses to strengthen and further stretch the entire body so you feel so relaxed and peaceful after the final relaxation pose on the ground. Hike\, Breathwork\, Yoga\, Sound Meditation \n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nMountain to Mat and Ojai Labyrinth invite you to a one of a kind full moon ceremony experience in Ojai\, California. Sitting on Chumash land\, Ojai is known as a vortex where spiritual-seekers have flocked over generations for rejuvenation and to journey inward to the soul. The Ojai Labyrinth offers one of the most spectacular night-sky viewing experiences in the ‘Valley of the moon’\, with 360 degree views of the valley\, from the moon rise over the Topa Topa Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. \nThe Ojai Full Moon Experience begins with a 15 minute meditative walk in nature to the top of the labyrinth and viewpoint. From here\, guests will be guided through a practice intended to bring a deeper connection to the heart and soul. This includes breath work\, a gentle asana yoga suitable for all bodies and experiences\, and a sound meditation accompanied by crystal singing bowls. We close with a full moon gratitude and intention ceremony. \nThe gate opens at 6:30pm with the ceremony beginning at 7:00pm. Due to the nature of the event\, we cannot accept attendees who arrive later than 15 minutes past the start time. \nPlease bring anything you may need to make you feel comfortable\, including extra clothing layers\, blankets and socks\, water\, a yoga mat and flashlights or a head lamp. Yoga mats and flashlights will be available upon request. \nThe experience does not include transportation. The Ojai Labyrinth is located off Gridley Road\, about a 10 minute drive from downtown Ojai. This event is for the Sturgeon Full Moon in August. \nThe Ojai Full Moon Ceremony Experience is led by healing arts practitioner\, yoga and meditation teacher\, Lyndsay Pennington and hosted by Pippa Baker-Rabe. \nA former media executive for over a decade\, Lyndsay developed her own yoga and meditation practice while coping with a high-stress corporate environment. She went on to study Yoga & Healing Sciences at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles\, California. Since then\, Lyndsay has developed a teaching style incorporating meditation\, yoga\, energy healing\, breath work\, sound healing and mentorship. Lyndsay’s classes create a safe and accessible environment to explore\, reconnect and uplift. DESCRIPTION:For more than two decades the Ojai Playwrights Conference has brought together established and emerging playwrights to develop compelling new plays for the American theatre. \nIn 2022 — our 25th season — we are thrilled to be back IN PERSON in OJAI for our SUMMER CONFERENCE and NEW WORKS FSTIVAL (August 7-14). The week-long festival features new play workshops\, Intersection events\, young artist shows and special receptions.  \nThe Ojai Playwrights Conference also offers two educational programs: the OPC Intern Program (for college students) and the OPC Youth Workshop Program (for high school students). Both provide opportunities for young artists to engage with playwrights and artistic staff and to be mentored in the creation of their own original works\, presented as part of the New Works Festival. \n  \nOPC25: THE LEGACY CONTINUES\n\nZalk Theater at Besant Hill School\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nINTERSECTION EVENT\nSPECIAL OPENING NIGHT PROGRAM\nVeteran OPC playwrights Jon Robin Baitz\, Bill Cain\, Stephen Adly Guirgis and Charlayne Woodard on stage with 2022 writers-in-residence Lyndsey Bourne and Zora Howard with Artistic Director/Producer Robert Egan. These dynamic playwrights will discuss their experiences developing new works in Ojai\, and will perform select pieces from their work just for this occasion.
