DESCRIPTION:Novels & Longer Narratives (NLN) Workshop\nThis workshop is for those who already have a body of work (which could be a bunch of free-writes\, journal entries\, etc.) and want to develop longer narratives (novels\, short stories\, plays/screenplays\, hybrid forms) within community. Participants will provide thoughtful responses to others’ work and find their “core story”. Writers will share their work with one another and dive deeply into analyses of narrative elements like theme\, emotion\, character arc\, scene\, and style. Through craft talks\, examinations of powerful short stories and novel excerpts\, writing exercises\, and uniform participation\, the workshop will generate approximately 80 pages of new work and build community.\n  \nWhen: Saturdays\, Feb. 25 – Apr. 22 (skip Mar. 11)\nTime: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM\nWhere: Zoom

Wade and the oppression of women\n\n\n        Listen to our podcast on Ojai Talk of the Town to find out more\n\nAre you angry\, frustrated\, tapped out\, or numb about what’s going on in the world?\n\nAre you feeling like you want to scream\, cry\, rage\, and wail against the thousands of years of gender-specific oppression and need an outlet that is creative and mindful?\n\n  Are you FURIOUS? We are….\n\n\n\n\nSYNOPSIS: \nThe FURYUS Collaborative Project weaves Classical Greek text\, spoken word\, song\, dance\, tableaux\, and verbatim theatre into an artistic activism performance piece.\n\nThe intended outcome is to raise awareness\, provide an artistic performance\, bring people together in supportive collaboration\, and ultimately create an artistic activist piece that can be utilized by other communities to create their own unique scripts inside the framework this first play has done.\nThe approach is a process focused on a clear director’s vision. This is NOT an anti-male piece.\n\nThe style of direction and teaching will be the KAST model.  See www/kastheatre.com for the method and environment of what to expect.\n\nDefinition of Furies: Greek Erinyes\, also called Eumenides\, in Greco-Roman mythology\, the underworld. They were three goddesses of vengeance and retribution who punished men for crimes against the natural order.\n————————————————————\n\nPURPOSE:\n\nThe FuryUs Collaborative Project has a multi-purpose:\n\n1.  Assisting theatrical artists to express their feelings in a safe space with focus and direction to process the traumas of misogyny and prejudices which have been so prevalent and consistent recently and throughout generations.\n2. To raise further awareness in communities about the theme and create social activism.\n3. To further the vision and mission that Art can create change.\n4. To develop theatre artists who are seeking a safe environment to fully engage with Art\, authentically and with mindfulness.\n\nWe are  filming the process as a documentary of how devised theater can make a positive difference in the world.\n\n  \n
