On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Kent Hall and via Zoom, the City of Ojai will host a community meeting on “Preparing for Emergencies,” as part of an ongoing series.

Participants will hear from the City’s public safety partners, view its emergency guide, share perspectives, and explore local resources that will help them prepare for and respond to a local emergency.

Representatives will be available to help with on-the-spot sign-ups for mobile alerts through MyOjai and VC Alert. Refreshments will be available.

This is the second disaster preparedness event hosted by the City this month. The city held a working meeting on Aug. 10 to review and refine its draft emergency guide. This informational booklet for residents, visitors and businesses provides local emergency information at a glance and will be

released in September. Stakeholders include Ventura County Sheriff and Fire, Ventura County Office of Emergency Services, Ojai Valley Community Hospital, Humane Society of Ventura County, City of Ojai Disaster Council, Ham Radio operators as well as media, and education partners.

There will be time for questions, and participants can take home information on local and regional emergency preparedness resources. Reservations are not required. For additional information, please email weston.montgomery@ojai.ca.gov or call (805) 646-5581, x101.
