For more than two decades the Ojai Playwrights Conference has brought together established and emerging playwrights to develop compelling new plays for the American theatre.

In 2022 — our 25th season — we are thrilled to be back IN PERSON in OJAI for our SUMMER CONFERENCE and NEW WORKS FSTIVAL (August 7-14). The week-long festival features new play workshops, Intersection events, young artist shows and special receptions.

The Ojai Playwrights Conference also offers two educational programs: the OPC Intern Program (for college students) and the OPC Youth Workshop Program (for high school students). Both provide opportunities for young artists to engage with playwrights and artistic staff and to be mentored in the creation of their own original works, presented as part of the New Works Festival.
