Introduction to Nonviolent Communication at the Ojai Library

SUBA practice group for youth and adults – at the Ojai Library

Beginning on Saturday, November 10, 2018Kamala Nellen will visit the Ojai Library once a week from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to lead a practice group, Introduction to Nonviolent Communication. Additional dates will include November 17, November 24, and December 1. In this four-week class, participants will learn and practice the four components of the nonviolent communication process.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC), was started by Marshall Rosenberg, who believed it is our nature to enjoy giving and receiving in a compassionate manner. NVC begins with the assumption that we are all compassionate by nature and that violent strategies are learned behaviors taught and supported by our culture. Kamala Nellen has been practicing Nonviolent Communication for nine years, and is also a certified life coach and published author. She has also practiced and taught yoga and meditation for over 40 years.

This event is free and open to the public. For additional information, contact Ron Solórzano, Regional Librarian, at (805) 218-9146.

The Ojai Library is located at 111 East Ojai Avenue in Ojai, CA. Hours of service are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
