Mark Frost joined John Broesamle Sunday afternoon for “Defending the Ojai.”

Ojai has long been under threat of housing developments, landfills, McMansion golf course projects, uranium mines. It was only through the dedication and tireless efforts of community organizers that the Ojai Valley’s stunning natural beauty has been preserved.

The Ojai Valley Museum  featured stories of these battles from one of those advocates, John Broesamle, along with writer and producer Mark Frost last Sunday at the Town Talk, “Defending the Ojai.”

Two gifted speakers shared the unbelievable backstories of some of the greatest environmental threats to the Ojai Valley over the past 50 years, “threats that rallied and united our community,” according to the Ojai Valley Museum.

The event was well attended. Tickets were $5 and are free for museum members. Call 640-1390 or visit ojaivalleymuseum.org.
